Jessalyn has worked in film and television for over a decade. In her role as VP Scripted, Jessalyn manages SEVEN24’s extensive scripted development slate, and works with writers on active projects.
In her role as VP Scripted, Jessalyn serves as a creative producer for SEVEN24 Films as well as managing the company’s extensive development slate.
Current projects include four seasons of the one-hour series Family Law for Global (Corus) and CW, the hit family series Heartland – the longest running one-hour series in Canadian history, now in its nineteeth season for CBC, Netflix and UPtv, four seasons of the supernatural western and two-time People’s Choice Award-winning series Wynonna Earp for SyFy and CTV Sci-Fi, and Wynonna Earp Vengeance for Tubi.
Jessalyn originated and developed the one-hour period drama Fortunate Son for CBC and NBCU International. Additional writing credits include the CBC series Heartland, the CBC/BBC series Shoebox Zoo and the Global/BBC miniseries Burn Up.
Jessalyn has her bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Carleton University and her MFA in Creative Writing from UBC. She is a member of the Writers Guild of Canada and the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television. Jessalyn has also mentored emerging producers in various programs through GEMS Vancouver and the NSI.
